Salad dressing can be high in sodium and sugar and contain unwanted ingredients, like preservatives and artificial flavors. When they take out the fat they add in sodium, sugar and other “flavors”. Why not make your own, in just five minutes? To make a healthy homemade vinaigrette, use orange and lime juices and fresh cilantro as well as heart- healthy olive oil. In a blender or food processor, puree 1 cup of packed cilantro, 1 / 2 cup extra- virgin olive oil, 1 / 4 cup lime juice, 1 / 4 cup orange juice, 1 / 2 teaspoon each salt and pepper and a pinch of minced garlic. Then, puree until smooth. This healthy Cilantro- Lime Vinaigrette has fresh flavor, healthy oil and just a few common kitchen ingredients. SALAD DRESSING
